St. Andreaskirche Braunschweig - Kiosk. Echo eines polnischen Alltags (03.03.2026 - 11.03.2026)

The sound and light installation [ˈkjɔsk] reconstructs the facade of a Polish street kiosk in the classic functional design characteristic of these structures, defined by the distinctive shades of green associated with the kiosks of the Ruch company, once a ubiquitous presence in Polish cities. Through alienated audio fragments: composed of conversation recordings, interviews, and urban ambient sounds the work evokes a living memory that gradually fades alongside the disappearance of these kiosks from the Polish urban landscape.

Central to the work, alongside the sound piece and its corresponding blinking fluorescent tube, is the panel at the heart of the installation: an original structural component from a kiosk in Bydgoszcz, which also establishes the historical framework of the piece. Complementing the soundscape, the kiosk carries its own heartbeat, a subtle pulse that quickens as the viewer approaches, reflecting the reawakening of a fading memory.
